Downsized Living is a start-up online magazine that uses dark humor and parody to call attention to the possibility that Americans’ greatly diminished financial circumstances and opportunities may become the new normal unless there is a significant change in our thinking and politics. My hope is that this recession, which Nobel Prize–winning economist Paul Krugman thinks is really a depression, signals the end of a way of life that isn’t working and the beginning of another — one that is based on greater economic equality and a healthy economy based on the use and development of renewable energy.
| Downsized Living is quarterly for now and “the staff” is just me — with yours truly serving as editor-in-chief, writer, copy editor and proofreader all in one. My plan is to hire professional humor writers and let the magazine grow from there. Thank you for your interest in Downsized Living. I welcome any input or feedback you might have...feel free to share comments via the Contact page. – Blair Adams |
